What You Will Learn?

12 Weeks to a Better You helps you understand others better to become ‘Hyperconnected’. It might seem odd that we start with self-reflection. Self-reflection is a key element to understanding others, it helps you consider what is happening around you in an objective, helpful way.

You will learn techniques to make self-reflection a regular part of your life. Reflective practice, a variant of self-reflection, helps people focus on issues at work and develop a broader, more comprehensive understanding situations in the workplace.

Your Coaching Session

People can be resistant to self-reflection, something we would like to break down. Coaching helps explore resistance, allow you to contemplate your internal features – how you think, feel, and behave. You will learn to use skills that make self-reflection and reflective-practice a part of your life moving forward.

Confidence and Self-Esteem

What You Will Learn?

Confidence and self-esteem have a dramatic effect on well-being. Negative confidence and self-esteem changes the way people see the world, and how they fit into it.

What You Will Learn?

Personality is the central feature of who we are as individuals and psychological defences help people deal with psychological challenges. In this module you will learn:

  • How ‘difficult personalities’ can make it choices that have negative effects on people in their lives.
  • How to modify interactions with people with different personality styles and how to help people achieve their best results.
  • How cognitive bias affects the way we think and how this can impact thinking patterns.

Observe and detect the qualities of someone’s personality, and how to help people rise to achieve their absolute best. Reflect on how you and others are affected by cognitive bias.

Using Systems Theory

What You Will Learn?

People are not just individuals, they form systems. Systems theory will help you understand how groups function, how to predict what will happen when one part of a system is changed, and how to create remedies for dysfunctioning systems.

Learn how to use the ‘7 Step Systems Analysis Formula’ to ensure you can understand systems, particularly when something is going wrong.

Coaching invites you to explore the systems you operate within, and how it changes according to circumstances.

You will reflect on your own systems and consider what happened when parts of the system changed. You can then reflect on how this system might have been adjusted through deliberate interventions, giving you control over the system.

We have all become involved in conflict. This coaching session will help you think about conflict differently and how to positively influence people in conflict.

You will reflect on conflicts and use this to develop your conflict management skills.

After the initial resolution of conflict, the need to find solutions starts. Wherever possible, negotiation should identify solutions that benefit both sides.

Some people, because of their personality and other psychological factors, find conflict difficult. You will learn how to use a more specialised strategy to help people reach solutions.

Dr. Neil Schultz is a well-known Psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in the above fields. He is currently based in Australia.

For more than thirty years, Dr. Schultz has worked as a qualified:

  1. Medical practitioner,
  2. Psychiatrist,
  3. Lawyer, and
  4. Mediator.

He holds several degrees from renowned educational institutions including:

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), University of Sydney;
  • FRANZCP, Psychiatry, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry;
  • Master of Medicine, Psychiatry, University of Sydney;
  • GDLP, Law, University of Newcastle;
  • JD, Law, University of Newcastle.

While each area of work examines psychological awareness differently, a deep understanding of psychological factors was always relevant. Understanding the psychology of the parties was the central factor in understanding the people involved.

This is completely understandable, but it relies on people already developing serious problems. Dr. Schultz wanted to try and prevent rather than treat problems. The aim is to help people understand themselves and those around them, to minimise psychological challenges, and provide real, practical skills that will help people manage challenges, the same challenges we all face from time to time.
